GREATER FIRST COLONY

Greater First Colony includes the neighborhoods of First Colony on the James, Heritage Landing, Chestnut Hill, Shellbank, and Shellbank Woods. Together, we invite you to browse through our site and discover what makes this the best community in Williamsburg. The prople, activities, amenities, clubs, groups and committees are just the tip of the iceberg.

Our community has so much to offer and its beauty astounds us every day, though our greatest asset is the community of people that live here. We help each other and the greater community when ever there is a need. Helping others isn't for the few rather for everyone. We welcome new neighbors, hate to see old one's go and once in a while we grow by a home or two. We come from all walks of life and when we come together as a group, its only our similarities we seek. We give to each other, help each other, watch out for each other, learn from each other and enjoy our diversities.

All residents of the Greater First Colony are invited and encouraged to join the Greater First Colony Area Civic Association (GFCACA). GFCACA members make Greater First Colony a terrific place to call home. 

After becoming a member, you and your family have access to the park, lake, tennis and pickleball courts, basketball court, soccer field, playground, and the beach and marina. You also receive free admission to several community-sponsored events.  Additional charges are incurred for pool membership and/or to various fees at the marina. Find the fee information on the web page with the amenity you would like to use.
